| Biotechnology and Bioengeneering of Rice Root Stucture to Enhance Drought Tolerance | |

Drought is a major constraint of Agriculture worldwide. Root and its structure play an important role in plant adaptation to water stress. By comparing contrasting rice genotypes and their NILs, we are looking for genes involved in shaping root structure and growth specially under drought condition using various omics approaches. The functions of candidate genes are examined by transferring them to drought sensitive lines and various phenotypic and physiological measurements.
